NOTICE:

Highline Lake State Park will be unavailable for us to race at this June, as the Reservoir is being drained due to a Zebra Mussel issue. We are currently looking for a different site together with the City Of Fruita. We will update the site and registration as soon as we have an update mid February.

Friday, June 1st Skills Clinics and Saturday June 2nd Race Day:

The 2024 Western Slope Edition will be featuring an all new, adventurous high desert course.

TBD due to a venue change: We hope to include a lake, mountain biking trails ranging from easy to difficult, cliffs rising out of the water, camping, a family run, a 5 and under balance bike race for the young ones.

RACE DETAILS

  • Capped at 126 teams

  • Approximately 3.5 miles with 10-12 obstacles

  • Competitive racers will race in the first heat (9:00 AM)

  • Waves limited to 42 teams

  • 3 Wave times: 9:00 AM /10:30 AM /12:00 PM

  • Racers are released 2 teams at a time in 2 minute intervals to reduce course back ups

  • Saturday Waves 1 & 2 AGES 10-14 *15-17 in some locations

  • Saturday Wave 2 & 3 AGES 6-9 & OPEN

  • Open to 126 teams

ALL RACE ENTRIES INCLUDE:

  • Entry for 1 team (2 participants)

  • Finisher medal for each participant (2 medals)

VOLUNTEER

There are a variety of positions available to volunteer for during this event. Including, obstacle help, course marshals, transition areas, and start/finish help. Parents who volunteer may be eligible to receive a partial discounted refund on their child’s registration when volunteering. Contact us to learn more.

Have a group? Groups of 10 or more may be eligible to receive a donation in their organizations’ name from the Kids Adventure Games.


GEAR LIST

Each team member must have the following gear. All items to be provided by participants and carried the entire race, with the exception of a climbing harness and life jacket, which will be provided by race organizers. Please mark your gear with your name and phone number.

  1. (Mountain) Bike with knobby tires in good working order. Please check tire pressure, brakes and make sure saddles are at the correct height.

  2. Bike Helmet

  3. Bike Gloves

  4. Shorts

  5. Rain Jacket

  6. Socks, Sturdy Athletic Shoes

  7. Water (Minimum of 10 oz.)

  8. Small Back Pack or Hydration Pack

  9. Small Snack

  10. First Aid Kit: small Ziploc bag with some wet wipes, band aids, white tape, Neosporin

  11. Climbing Harness (Optional)

RACE DAY INFO

Please read all email communication that is sent out, which will contain start lists, important updates and last minute reminders.

  • All participants will need to sign a waiver on site or prior to arriving

  • Plan on arriving 1 hour prior to your wave (9:00am, 10:30AM, 12:00PM) start time. Mandatory athlete meeting occurs 30 minutes before your wave start

  • Race bibs, provided at check in, should be pinned to the front of athlete’s shirt

  • Spectators are welcome to watch anywhere on the course, please note some course sections may require traversing some treacherous terrain

  • We ask that parents allow their children to work together to problem solve all obstacles without assistance. Feel free to cheer and encourage, but refrain from physically helping

CANCELLATION POLICY

A participant can withdraw from the Event up to and until 11:59pm 60 days prior to the running of the Event they are registered in. A $25 cancellation fee will apply (i.e. I will be returned the entry fee paid by me less $25). Should I wish to withdraw from an event from 12:00am within 60 Days prior to the registered Event onwards for any reason (including, but not limited to, medical reasons), there is no refund of any portion of my entry fee. Park Fees and Camping Fees are non refundable. Participants must formally request a refund by completing the cancellation form found on the website. 

WEATHER POLICY

The race will take place rain or shine. In the event there is dangerous inclement weather or lightning in the area, the Race Director will make the appropriate call to delay or cancel the race. No refunds will be given if the race is cancelled due to weather.
