The Kids Adventure Race, formerly known as Kids Adventure Games, is a multi-discipline outdoor race series for kids 6–14.
WHAT IS ADVENTURE RACING?
The Kids Adventure Race was built on one idea: the best thing you can give a kid isn’t comfort — it’s a real challenge, in a real place, with real stakes.
Adventure racing combines trekking, mountain biking, and orienteering into a single continuous event. Teams navigate a course using a map.
Every course is designed to challenge teams in ways they didn’t expect. Mountain bikes, trails, water crossings, rope obstacles — all tackled by the kids themselves. The challenge isn’t something to fear. It’s exactly why the finish line means so much.
Parents cheer from the sidelines. Kids do the work. And when they cross the finish line — muddy, tired, and glowing with pride — they leave knowing they can do more than they thought.

The Race Format
A 2.5–4 mile timed course across three disciplines and up to 15 obstacles. Teams carry their own gear — helmets, gloves, and harnesses required throughout. Parents cheer from the sidelines, this race belongs to the kids.

Navigate singletrack and mountain roads on two wheels. Teams ride together through natural and built features designed for young riders of every level.

On foot through rugged terrain, switchbacks, and up to 15 man-made and natural obstacles. Teamwork, strategy, and grit determine who crosses the finish line first.

Swim, wade, or paddle through water sections built into natural features at each venue. Life jackets are provided. No two water sections are the same.
Up to 15 unique obstacles built into each venue. No two races are ever the same.

For The Parents
Parents leave race day with a huge sense of pride, joy, and sometimes genuine surprise after watching their kids take on this course and own it. Something shifts out on that trail — your kid discovers something about themselves they didn't know was there.
We encourage parents to cheer loudly throughout the course — but let your kids work with their partner to solve every obstacle. Don't intervene. This is their adventure. The finish line means more because of it.

What Kids Take Home
No solo finishers. Teams cross the finish line together — that’s the rule, and the reward. Every decision on course is made as a pair.
Three miles of mountain terrain doesn’t lie. Kids discover what they’re capable of when the trail gets tough — and what they find there surprises everyone, including them.
Map reading, obstacle strategy, pacing decisions — kids navigate challenges that don't have obvious answers.
Medals are earned. Age-group podiums are real. The pride at the finish line can't be handed to anyone — it has to be won.
Every course is set in a place worth falling in love with. Leave No Trace principles are woven into the race itself.
Real competition means real results. Kids learn to win with grace and lose with resolve — both are part of the race.

Race Day Recognition
Beyond the podium — three awards given each race day by on-course staff and volunteers.

Given to the team that demonstrates the best sportsmanship on course — toward their own teammate and every other team they encounter. Voted on by on-course staff.

Given to the team with the most spirit. Creative costumes, team handshakes, race-day dances — show up loud. Voted on by staff and volunteers.

Given to the team that picks up the most trash on course. We leave every location cleaner than we found it. Trash is counted at the finish line.
Skills Clinics
Optional pre-race skills clinics are available at each venue in the days leading up to race day. Designed to build confidence and close skill gaps — so your kid arrives on race day feeling prepared and excited.

2026 Race Season
Four locations. One season. Spots are limited to 180 teams per event.
